Vitamin D deficiency is clearly linked to inflammation
Study reveals a causal connection between vitamin D deficiency and systemic inflammation. Research shows that inflammation, as measured by C-reactive protein (CRP) testing, decreases as vitamin D levels increase to normal. However, there is no reverse effect; changes in CRP levels do not appear to affect vitamin D levels. The study, based on a two-way Mendelian analysis with nearly 300,000 participants, suggests that improving vitamin D levels could reduce chronic inflammation. This finding highlights the importance of addressing vitamin D deficiency to mitigate chronic inflammation. https://academic.oup.com/ije/article/52/1/260/6586699?login=false
